How do I prescribe an appliance for a patient that may already be in the system?

Instead of making a new patient for every Rx, each patient has a unique account where you can see all their prescriptions. From the dashboard, click the "new prescription" button and when you are entering the patient information, if the patient exists, their name will pop up as you type for you to choose. This helps to prevent double patient entry. You can also search for the patients profile in the search bar or click on the "patient" section on the top of the screen and search within that list. Once you find the patients profile you can "view" it and create another prescription for that specific patient.

If using the written check-in process to create prescriptions for incoming paper or traditional Rx's in the check in process, when you type in the patients last name, if the patient exists it will appear in a drop down queue to choose.  That will create a Rx for that patient and will be saved in their profile, as opposed to creating a new patient account.
